68TH CONVENTION

AUG 04-11: 68TH NATIONAL CONVENTION

INSTALLATION DINNER AT THE POST WAS A BIG SUCCESS!!

As usual Post 57 put on a great spread and made everyone welcome Sunday April 15th for the installation of the officers for the 2012-2013 year.

Department President, Tony Lema, swore in the new Riders board thanking everyone for their hard work in continuing the Riders legacy in Michigan. Mr. Lema is a Charter Member for the Riders formation for the state of Michigan and he recognizes all that needs to be done. Thank you Mr. Lema for the thoughtful words!

Traditions was the theme for the Riders for this install. We have started traditions with this being the third installation for use. Enthusiam reigns with this year's directives. Some new ideas and continuation of prior years' events creates our traditions.

We now have our annual Bowling Tournament with larger crowds attending every year. Runs to Lewiston adds to our totals for reporting for our veterans. Big Horn started our Annual Vets Picnic and will continue this year in June. Traditions have been started and more to come. Hard work and good participation adds to the good feeling that our family is a close knit bunch of Riders.

You should be proud of the results we had from last year and the direction of this year will create an atmosphere of belonging, not obligation, but rather a good feeling of knowing our vets are appreciated and taken care of through efforts started the first two years.

The last tradition that has been created is finally putting to bed the back patch. Chapter 57 was integral in the design that was passed and now a universal back patch accepted by the motorcycle brotherhood will become reality. Chapter 57 is the leader yet again!

2012-2013 will be the best year yet...
